Planning Construction Security After Hours
Planning guide · Day Night Security ·
After-hours security planning starts with what changes when the crew leaves. A gate that is busy all day may be closed at night. Tools and materials may remain on site. Use this checklist to prepare a conversation about guard or patrol coverage.
Identify the gaps in the work schedule
Write down when the last crew leaves and the next crew arrives. Include weekend work, public holidays and planned shutdowns. Note any deliveries or authorised visits outside those hours. This helps you describe when the site is unattended and which parts of the period need coverage. Do not assume the same schedule applies every day of the project.
Describe gates, boundaries and storage areas
List the entrances in use and the parts of the perimeter that need attention. Note where tools, copper and equipment are stored in general terms. The purpose of the enquiry is to describe guard duties, so avoid sharing sensitive layouts, codes or detailed stock records through the public form. You can raise the need for a fuller site discussion when speaking with the team.
Choose the duties before choosing a label
Think about the work you need a guard to carry out. A gate post may need a person present for a whole shift. A closed site may need visits and checks. Day Night Security provides construction guards for overnight, weekend and holiday coverage, as well as mobile patrol. Tell the team if you are unsure which fits. A visiting patrol should not be treated as continuous on-site presence.
Plan the contact and the handover
Identify who can discuss the site and answer questions about the agreed duties. Note the dates when access arrangements or working hours are expected to change. Construction sites evolve as work progresses, so review the brief when the pattern of use changes. Ask how issues found during coverage will be reported and how changes to the duties should be raised with the security team.
Prepare the quote request
Include the address, type of build, proposed start date, overnight hours and weekend or holiday needs. Add a short list of the tasks you want covered. Day Night Security works with subdivisions, townhomes, high-rises and commercial builds in Surrey and the Lower Mainland. Call 604-512-9007 or send an enquiry to discuss availability. Do not include passwords or alarm codes. An enquiry does not reserve a guard; wait for the coverage and duties to be confirmed.
Discuss your property with us
Tell us your location, dates and coverage needs. We will discuss availability and agree the duties before confirming coverage.
